They ended up creating of 19,000 costumes for many different cultures featured in Middle Earth. They also threw in special things to costumes like embroidery on unseen items and extra layers that no one would ever even see them wearing. Every chainmail item you see was constructed piece by piece so that it was a realistic look and weight. The costume department, headed by Ngila Dickson and Richard Taylor spared no effort as well. Their swordmaster was Bob Anderson who was a well-known fencer and stunts man who stood in as Darth Vader for any dueling scenes in the original Star Wars films. Most of the actors and stunt men and women had to be trained to use their swords since they were wielding weapons made by an actual swordsmith, Peter Lyon. Some of these things include the fight scenes and costumes. This film has many spectacular components that made it such a spectacular film. It premiered in the UK on December 10, 2001. Tolkien and was directed by Peter Jackson, screenplay by Fan Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Peter Jackson, and stared Elijah Wood (Frodo), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Hugo Weaving (Elrond), and Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn). The film I am choosing to critique is The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001).
